Due to an absence of time, and of space in the garage my new shock absorber has been sat in a box for a long time. Seeing as the MT needs new boots this seemed like an appropriate time to get on it (and the fork springs which are next on the list).
As I am on a budget I went with a Hagon in the end - built for my weight (too much) and the fact that I have very little intention of carrying a pillion (the Mad Orange Thing being only too willing to point the front end towards the sky as it is).
This is where the bits I am supposed not to lose go...
Changing the shock was a little fiddly at times, and eventually I did give up and remove the petrol tank with the judicious use of a mallet!
The new one is certainy shinier, and I look forward to riding it once I have got my tyres changed and it stops pissing down. The old rear squared off very suddenly, and I am planning on trying Avon Storm 3D's next.
The Bridgestone did last better than this though...oops.
Love my Abba Stand
Getting to that nut could be interesting...
Hope I can remember where all these bits go...
and the old one is off...
That looks better...thanks to my ever helpful 2nd pair of hands :)
So new boots soon, and then a fight with the front forks...progressive spings and heavier oil appears to be the consensus. Come on sun, I should be sorted in a week or so.
